Happy Independence Day! I live on the border of Minnesota (fireworks are illegal) and South Dakota (where they're legal), so everyone is selling fireworks here. I'm not a huge fan of lighting them off personally. As a child I enjoyed throwing those bang snaps aka poppers that make a noise when they hit the ground. I'm pretty, pretty tame. But I have plenty of neighbors shooting off fireworks anyway.

That's how it is here in Florida. I believe it used to be illegal to set off airborne fireworks, but it was legal to scare off birds. So, people just always did it anyway. You know, because birds are a serious problem in Florida at night! 😂🤣

The place people used to go to purchase the "good" and truly scary fireworks was South of The Border. The "good stuff" was illegal in North Carolina, so people would go to South of The Border (in South Carolina) to buy their fireworks. People from Florida did as well.

I need to go back there, I haven't been there since I was a very little kid.
